Fit to be Tied

Reading about a former porno star, Traci Lords, posing for Muscle and Fitness magazine really amused me (Outtakes, by Pat H. Broeske, Jan. 31).

I had just shopped a local supermarket that had that issue prominently displayed at the checkout line for all to see. Paired with Lords on the cover was a male athlete clad in a jockstrap with his hand on Lords’ torso, near what are sometimes called private areas.

Oh yes, this is one of those markets that recently purged Penthouse and Playboy from its mag racks because of “sexual explicitness” in their photos.

I guess they make exceptions in the name of physical fitness, however.
