Lazers Can Make Move on 2nd Place Today Against Wings

Share

The Lazers will try to bounce back from their 5-4 overtime loss to the Tacoma Stars Friday night and stay in the three-team Western Division battle for second place when they play host to the Wichita Wings today at 1:30 at the Forum.

The Lazers (13-14) are in fourth place, trailing the second-place Stars by one game and the third-place Kansas City Comets by a half-game. A victory today against the Wings would set up Wednesday night’s home showdown with the Comets.

The Wings (11-17), have the second-worst record in the Major Indoor Soccer League. They are in fifth place in the Western Division, trailing the Lazers by 2 1/2 games. Today’s match will feature Lazers’ leading scorer Chico Borja in his first home game against his former team. Borja signed with Lazers as a free agent before this season after leading the Wings in scoring last season.
