Rick & the Homeless, II

Share

As luck would have it, I started on my taxes right after reading about the controversy created by Rick Dees’ comments about the homeless (Pop Eye, Jan. 31).

Thus I was able to arrive at a solution that should benefit all parties to the dispute: Since Schedule A miscellaneous are now limited to 2% of adjusted gross income, Casey Casem, Rosanna Arquette, Peter Case and even Rick should take a homeless person along to each of their business lunches. They could then deduct each lunch as a charitable contribution (which is not subject to the 2% limit).

Oh--and while dining, it couldn’t hurt if Casey, Rick and the others listened to their homeless guest instead of purporting to speak for him or her.
