Police Arrest Man Accused of Rape, Robbery
A Cypress man was arrested Saturday morning on suspicion of rape, robbery and kidnaping, Anaheim police reported.
The suspect, Alton G. Nicholas, 30, was arrested outside a store in the 600 block of South Jefferson Street after a Santa Ana woman identified him as the man who raped her hours earlier, police said.
Nicholas is being held at the Anaheim jail pending arraignment.
Police said the woman was abducted at 2 a.m. Saturday in the 3700 block of East La Palma Avenue. A man forced her into a pickup truck and took her to a nearby commercial area, where he raped and robbed her, police said.
The 27-year-old woman was forced back into the pickup, but she jumped out and called for help, police said.
