Local News in Brief : South County : Transportation Corridor Project Engineer Named
Gene Foster, former chief of public works engineering for an Irvine-based firm, has been named project engineer and manager overseeing the San Joaquin Hills Transportation Corridor highway project.
The highway, once a proposed freeway but now planned as a toll road, is scheduled to be completed within five years between Newport Beach and San Juan Capistrano, through the Laguna Hills-Laguna Niguel area.
Foster previously worked for RBF and Associates in Irvine and, earlier, for the County.
