34 Pulled From Gulf After Oil Platform’s Leg Buckles

GALVESTON, Tex. —
Thirty-four oil rig workers who used escape pods to flee a sinking drilling platform were plucked safely from the Gulf of Mexico on Tuesday by a tugboat that had helped tow the rig into place six hours earlier. One leg of the rig buckled Monday night.
