AND NOW HERE’S THE NEWS: Is Bon Jovi cashing in on its huge commercial success? You bet--the band is taping a pair of Fuji Film TV commercials, which are slated to air in Japan later next month. . . . Julio Iglesias will be back at the end of April with a new album, tentatively titled “Non-Stop.” Made all-in-English, the record features a duet with Stevie Wonder called “My Love,” as well as such new tunes as “Too Many Women,” “Never Never Never,” “Love Is on Our Side Again” and “Aloha”. . . . Wait till Clive Davis hears about this. Pop starlet Whitney Houston has been telling friends that she’d like to record a duet with Billy Idol! She says she saw his concert recently and “adored” him. . . . Melle Mel has rejoined Grandmaster Flash and co-written the songs on the group’s new Elektra album, due out later this spring. . . . Marshall Crenshaw has co-written a song with an odd couple--David Was and Donald Was--who have a new record due out from PolyGram in England. . . . And forget all that talk about Kinks leader Ray Davies suffering a heart attack after a concert several months ago in London. Totally untrue, says MCA Records, which has just--inexplicably--released yet another live Kinks album. MCA execs tell us Davies had performed a series of shows while suffering from the flu and was hospitalized for exhaustion.
