Audrey Hepburn has been appointed a special UNICEF ambassador and will travel to drought-stricken Ethiopia on a mission this month, the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund said Wednesday. Hepburn, now living in Switzerland, will travel to Ethiopia on Sunday at the invitation of the American national committee for UNICEF. The star of “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” “My Fair Lady” and “Roman Holiday” joins Harry Belafonte, Liv Ullmann and Peter Ustinov as an ambassador for the organization.
