Cari Matthews has been named vice president and general counsel of ICN Pharmaceuticals, Costa Mesa, succeeding Lawrence Panitz, who left the company. Before joining ICN, she was assistant general counsel and principal deputy director for the Department of the Navy, litigation office. Before that, she was associate deputy attorney general with the Justice Department. She has also been an assistant U.S. attorney for the Southern District of Florida, a law professor and an associate counsel in private practice.
