Barcel Wire & Cable, an Irvine manufacturer of aerospace products, agreed to be acquired by Banner Industries, a Cleveland-based manufacturing company, for an undisclosed amount of cash and notes. Barcel will continue under its present management, including President Bob E. Inman, a Banner official said. Glenn A. Brosche, Barcel’s vice president of finance, said the acquisition of his company will help “position us to ensure future growth.” Founded in 1972, Barcel manufactures high-performance wire and cable for the aerospace industry. The company has 110 employees in Irvine and 20 at its Santa Fe Textiles subsidiary in Santa Ana, which makes specialty braided products for the aerospace, electronics and medical industries. Banner is a manufacturer of aerospace products, mechanical components, engineered materials and water treatment equipment.
