Girl Goes Out of Her Way to Get Royal Job

LONDON —
It took six months to find a secretary for Prince Charles’ country residence because most applicants found it too difficult to get there, officials said Tuesday.
Officials of the government’s Youth Training Scheme said scores of youngsters refused to work at Highgrove House because the future king’s home was “in the middle of nowhere.” They said a 16-year-old girl from Bristol, who bought a moped to make the daily 20-mile trip, was finally hired.
