Taiwan Will Allow Mail From China

Share

The government of Taiwan has announced it is lifting a 39-year ban on receiving mail from China. A spokesman said the decision was taken last week in response to public demand.

People on Taiwan are still officially not allowed to send letters to China.

Previously, letters from China were either rejected by the post office or returned to forwarders in third countries, usually Hong Kong.

China’s official China News Service said Wednesday that more than 3,000 letters from China have reached Taiwan.
