Although in theory I wouldn’t want to deny anyone the opportunity to publish anything, even another telephone book, I think it is getting to the point where something should be done to limit the redundancy, if only for the sake of all the trees that are being destroyed.
Between my home and office, with a total of four phone lines, I get 12 directories whether I want them or not. I’ve seen condo buildings where they drop a pallet full in the garage and most of them are still sitting there six months later. It might not be so bad if there were some widely publicized way to get the old ones recycled. I’d be willing.
