If his collaborators have their way, Peter Falk may once more don his crumpled trench coat, get into his beat-up jalopy and come mumbling, bumbling back with “Just one more question . . . “ to prime-time TV as Lt. Columbo. Plans to revive the detective series “Columbo,” with Steven Spielberg directing the first episode, were disclosed over the weekend by the series’ co-creator, William Link. “The whole thing hinges on Peter’s approval,” Link said Saturday night during a tribute to the show at County Museum of Art. The show would move from NBC (where it ran from 1971-78) to ABC if Falk, 60, agrees to resume the role--which, until now, he has resisted. Spielberg, who directed an episode of the original “Columbo” when he was 19, asked to direct the new version’s first show, Link said.
