Opposition to Warner Ridge

In response to your March 5 article, “Builder Agrees to Alter Project,” whom is the builder agreeing with? He is evidently not listening to the concerns of the majority of homeowners in Carlton Terrace, College Acres and other areas who reject the builder’s intense commercial development. The community is advocating a development that is consistent with the characteristics of the neighborhood, one that would minimize adverse impacts. Thousands of people have signed petitions supporting the rejection of the Warner Ridge project.

Warner Ridge is zoned for residential use. That means homes, not commercial buildings. Expansion of commercial development east of Warner Center establishes dangerous and far-reaching consequences. Where would it end?

The developer’s revisions have increased his total office space from 37 to 38 stories, which has been achieved by juggling the heights of his buildings. His proposal to cover the storm channels adds usable land to his project. His traffic “mitigations” will impose hardships for many of us who live and work in the West Valley.
