Herbalife International Inc.’s income increased to $1.1 million for the year ended Dec. 31, 1987, contrasted with a loss of $2.3 million in 1986, the company reported. The plans included automated systems, more efficient inventory management, and reduced office and warehouse space. The changes reduced sales, administrative and commission expenses by $7.9 million, or 20%, over the year-ago period, the company said.
