Separated Twin Boys to Leave Hospital Soon
BALTIMORE — Patrick and Benjamin Binder, Siamese twins from West Germany who were separated in an operation last September, will be discharged next week from Johns Hopkins Hospital, officials have announced.
Hospital spokeswoman Susan Hooper did not provide a specific time for the twins to be released, but she said Thursday that doctors have scheduled a news conference for Tuesday.
The 14-month-old boys, who were attached at the back of their heads, have had several setbacks. The latest was earlier this month when Patrick choked during feeding, but doctors said they were encouraged by his recovery.
