Heavy rain and choppy waters apparently dissipated a thin diesel oil slick that stretched for 50 miles along the Ohio River from Indiana to Louisville, the Coast Guard said. “We’ve been out looking up the banks,” Coast Guard Lt. Eric Mosher said. “We have not been able to find a trace of the oil. It seems to have taken care of itself.” There were no reports of fish or wildlife kills. Authorities said the spill apparently originated Friday southwest of Cincinnati, but the oil’s source remained a mystery.
