Second Place Is New Goal for the Lazers

Share

Now that the Lazers have clinched a playoff spot, their goal is to finish in second place. They can make some strides toward that position with a win in tonight’s game at Wichita, Kan., against the Wings.

Winners of four straight games, the Lazers (28-24) trail the Kansas City Comets by a half-game. The second-place finisher will have the home field in three of the five potential first-round playoff games.

With four games remaining, the Wings (22-30) have an outside chance of gaining a playoff berth in the Major Indoor Soccer League’s Western Division trailing the third-place Tacoma Stars by 3 1/2 games. The top four teams in each division qualify for the playoffs.
