Negotiations are continuing for Avon Products to sell Foster Home Health Care to Abbey Medical, Fountain Valley, but the sale will not close by May 1 as expected earlier, the two companies said. In the interim, Avon has named Don Amaral acting president and chief executive officer of Foster. He has been president and chief operating officer of the Mediplex division of Avon. Foster, based in Blue Bell, Pa., is the nation’s largest supplier of home health care services with sales last year of about $250 million. Abbey has annual revenue of about $100 million and operates 75 home health care outlets in 26 states. Abbey is a subsidiary of VenTech Healthcare Corp., Toronto.
