The State : Car Insurance Bill Fails Vote

Share

A bill that would roll back auto insurance liability premiums by 10%, give drivers with no more than one moving violation in the last three years a further 10% discount and cut by about half the required amount of liability coverage under the mandatory auto insurance law failed to pass the Assembly Finance and Insurance Committee. However, the measure, authored by Assemblyman Patrick Johnston (D-Stockton), the committee chairman, will be reconsidered next week, Johnston said.
