Grammar in <i> espanol</i>

Idioma is masculine, so el segunda idioma would have been correct. Also, convertido en is technically correct, but become or come to be is better translated as llegado a ser . A Spanish-speaking reporter would have written: “El Espanol ha llegado a ser el segundo idioma de esta ciudad.”

Apart from the rocky beginning it was a well-written story.
