Carole Stevens has been elected president of the South Coast Symphony board of directors. Stevens is an attorney with Rutan & Tucker in Costa Mesa specializing in business and real estate-related litigation. A graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, she has been active with the Costa Mesa-based orchestra for two years.
Elected to the board’s executive committee were: James K. Place of Corona del Mar, Richard S. Sparrow of Costa Mesa and Frank R. Villalobos of Tustin, vice presidents; Ellen Okuda of Irvine, secretary; and Kenneth R. Williams of Long Beach, treasurer.
Opera Pacific has received a $61,000 grant from the San Francisco-based Ann and Gordon Getty Foundation. The money will be used for outstanding expenses from the Irvine-based organization’s 1987-88 season.
