Woman Given Probation, Fine in Child-Buying Case

FULTON, Mo. —
A 61-year-old woman was placed on five years’ probation Monday and fined $500 for trying to buy a child in exchange for money and an airplane ticket. Before her arrest, Jo Ann Underwood had posted cards at area stores and truck stops that read “Love Offer” and included a telephone number, police said.
