Carl Karcher Should Be Judged by His Achievements, Generosity to Charities

Share

Disbelief? Outraged? Distressed? Disgusted? Yes--I am feeling all those emotions. Why? Because of the irresponsible article written by Bruce Horovitz and Keith Bradsher about Carl Karcher. Their thoughtless article states “for Carl Karcher, the lawsuit belies his long-held image in Orange County as an endearing family man and an unabashed patriot.” Belies is defined in the World Book Dictionary as “to give false idea, prove to be mistaken, disappoint, misrepresent.” Because Karcher is accused of inside trading, does that substantiate the fact that he is not a wonderful husband, father and patriot? And does it signify that the millions he has given to charities are meaningless?

Karcher has given so unselfishly of his time, his energy and his money to help others, yet Horovitz and Bradsher have the audacity to say Karcher misrepresented his kindness. What an injustice!

P.S. If you’re wondering if I know Mr. Karcher--I do not--I, like everyone else in Orange County, benefited indirectly from his generosity.
