Rains Expand Sinkhole; 2nd House Threatened

SEBRING, Fla. —
Steady rain caused the ground around a 210-foot-wide sinkhole to settle Sunday, pushing a second home closer to the gorge that swallowed another home during the weekend. A sheriff’s lieutenant said the second home was about 15 yards from the edge and probably could not be saved because its foundation had already shifted.
