Local News in Brief : Science Group Inductees

Two Los Angeles-area professors have been elected to the National Academy of Sciences in recognition of their research achievements. Among the 61 newly elected members are Fred C. Anson, professor of chemistry and chemical engineering at Caltech, and Theodore E. Harris, professor of mathematics and electrical engineering at USC.
The announcement was made during the recent annual meeting in Washington of the academy, a private organization of more than 1,500 scientists and engineers, which acts as official adviser to the federal government on science and technology issues.
