The family of former Philippine President Ferdinand E. Marcos pleaded with President Corazon Aquino to permit him to return home from exile in Hawaii to see his dying mother. Aquino said she will consult with her Cabinet’s “crisis committee” today before making a decision. Josefa Edralin-Marcos, hospitalized Sunday with pneumonia and diabetes, made her “dying wish” in a letter received at the presidential palace after she slipped into a coma, presidential aides said. The 95-year-old woman stayed behind in February, 1986, when a military-civilian uprising drove her son into exile in Hawaii after 20 years in power. Aquino has refused to allow him to come back.
