Mob Boss Guilty of Bid Rigging

Mob boss Anthony (Fat Tony) Salerno was convicted today of a racketeering conspiracy to rig bids in the construction industry, but was acquitted along with two co-defendants of tampering with Teamsters union national elections.

Salerno, 77, who is serving a 100-year prison term for his conviction as a member of the U.S. Mafia’s ruling “Commission,” was found guilty of 28 counts and acquitted on five. Eight co-defendants were convicted of racketeering and racketeering conspiracy, both of which carry maximum 20-year prison terms.
