Fish-Scouting Aircraft Collide; 1 Pilot Killed

KODIAK, Alaska —
One pilot was killed when two fish-spotting planes collided over the North Pacific, authorities said, but the other pilot managed to land after the accident Tuesday. Aerial scouting for large fishing vessels is a common practice in waters off Alaska, an official said.
