Helping Victims

Share

It is refreshing to see articles showing the police as individuals, not stereotypes. It is even nicer when the activities exposed show some of the compassionate and thoughtful things police do in the process of performing their duties.

One such activity was discussed in the article “Room in His Heart for Crime Victims” (Metro, April 5). Thank you, Detective David Lambkin, for putting so much of your time, effort and personal money into creating a room to try to ease some of the trauma caused to victims of violent crimes and sexual assaults. The room creates a measure of comfort and security at this soul-wrenching time.

I hope that in hiring the additional much needed police officers in our understaffed city, we gain a few more like Officer Lambkin.
