Katie Has a Home

I don’t think that Edward McNamara really cares about 7-year-old Katie (“The Unwed Father,” by Beverly Beyette, April 26). If he did care, he would not want to disrupt her life; tear her from the arms of parents who stayed up nights to console her when she was sick; who wiped away the tears when she fell and hurt her knee; who sat by the bed as she said her prayers, and who have loved her for 7 years.

It’s too late now, Mr. McNamara. Katie already has a family and if you really cared, you wouldn’t try to tear this family apart.
