30 Arrested in Iran for Smuggling Drugs, Arms

NICOSIA, Cyprus —
Iranian security forces smashed several gangs smuggling arms and narcotics, Iran said.
The official Islamic Republic News Agency, in a report monitored in Nicosia, said on Tuesday that 30 “armed highway bandits” were arrested in Tehran, Tabriz and Khorramabad for smuggling drugs and selling weapons to “counterrevolutionaries.”
