Salvadoran President Jose Napoleon Duarte will travel to the United States early this week for treatment of a serious stomach problem, his spokeswoman said. Duarte, 62, was diagnosed in San Salvador late last week as suffering from a bleeding ulcer, spokeswoman Ana Maria Ruiz said. He is expected to depart for Bethesda Naval Hospital in Maryland on Tuesday after giving a speech to the National Assembly.
