Raisa Gorbachev Says She’s No Stargazer
As Nancy Reagan toured Moscow without her, Raisa Gorbachev, her hostess and sometime guide, said Monday that the astrological beliefs that play a role in the American First Lady’s life mean nothing to her.
“Not me, sorry,” the wife of Soviet leader Mikhail S. Gorbachev told reporters who asked if she believed in astrology. “I believe in practice and in practical things.”
Former White House aide Donald T. Regan has said astrology is a passion of Mrs. Reagan’s and an influence on presidential scheduling, but President Reagan has denied that horoscopes ever affected White House planning.
