South Korean prosecutors charged two senior officials of Hyundai Engineering and Construction Co. with paying a group of men to kidnap a labor organizer. Choi Jae Dong, 47, managing director, and Kang Myung Ku, 42, general manager, were accused in last month’s abduction of Suh Jung Ui, 34, who was released unharmed six days later. The prosecution announcement came amid a rash of labor disputes at firms of the Hyundai group. Hyundai Motor Co., the nation’s largest car maker, shut down its plant Wednesday after 20,000 workers went on strike for higher pay.
