LONDON —
Secretary of State George P. Shultz flew to Cairo today for meetings with Middle East leaders to promote a U.S. peace plan for the region that has attracted little support.
The five-day trip will take Shultz to Egypt, Jordan, Israel and Syria for talks and a bit of sightseeing. Shultz flew out on a U.S. Air Force Boeing 707 from London’s Heathrow Airport, where he had come with President Reagan after the Moscow summit.
