Although prosecutors are not ready to present evidence, a grand jury today is to receive charges against an alleged drunken driver accused of killing 27 people in a collision between his pickup truck and a church bus from Radcliff, Ky., on Interstate 71 near Carrollton, Ky. Larry W. Mahoney, 34, a chemical worker from Worthville, charged with 27 counts of capital murder, has pleaded innocent in the case. Mahoney is undergoing evaluation at the Kentucky Correctional Psychiatric Center in La Grange.
