Sales of California table grapes abroad set a record during the 1987-88 marketing year, the third straight seasonal high. A total of 4.35 million boxes was sold on the export market for $5.4 million, the California Table Grape Commission reported. A year earlier, 3.9 million boxes were sold for $5.2 million. The export market absorbed 8.5% of the crop of 50.3 million boxes of table grapes last year.
