Beverly Hills : Year of James Stewart Declared
It may be half over, but 1988 has just been proclaimed the Year of James Stewart in Beverly Hills.
On Tuesday, the City Council adopted a resolution declaring it to be James Stewart Year in recognition of the actor’s 80th birthday, which he celebrated May 20, and of his 60 years in show business. Stewart and his wife, Gloria, have lived in Beverly Hills for 40 years.
Stewart has won two Oscars and the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Achievement in Fostering the Finest Ideals of the Acting Profession.
