Thortec International Inc. said it has dismissed Touche Ross & Co. as its independent public accountants. Coopers & Lybrand has been retained as the independent public accountants of the company. The company intends to release its unaudited fiscal 1987 financial statements and the results of the first two quarters of its 1988 fiscal year within the next two weeks. Coopers & Lybrand will begin its audit work on fiscal 1987 immediately. San Mateo, Calif.-based Thortec said it was dissatisfied with the manner in which its 1987 audit was conducted by Touche Ross, which led in the company’s view to the continuing delays in completion of the audit.
