Sulzer Bros. Inc. announced that it plans to acquire Intermedics Inc. in an $800 million cash tender offer. The tender offer for the Angleton, Tex., developer of implantable medical devices is expected to commence next Tuesday, said Peggy O’Reilly, spokeswoman for New York-based Sulzer. Sulzer Bros., a subsidiary of Sulzer Brothers Ltd. of Winterthur, Switzerland, will begin a cash tender offer for all shares of Intermedics at $43 a share and for all common stock purchase rights warrants of Intermedics for $39.25 per warrant.
