Countywide : Battered Women Center Awarded $2,000 Grant

The Women’s Transitional Living Center, a shelter for battered women with headquarters in Orange, has been awarded a $2,000 grant from Safeway Stores Inc.
Joanne Olson, a center director, said that Safeway granted the award as part of the company’s community services project.
The center, organized 12 years ago, is a private, nonprofit organization that shelters battered women and their children for 45-day periods.
