A woman who called her banker husband and said she was being held for ransom at gunpoint was found shot to death Sunday in a wooded area, authorities said.

Dozens of police officers and FBI agents had combed the area for Sally Weiner, 37, since Friday, when she called her husband, Pennbank branch manager Harry Weiner, and said she would be killed if he did not meet an unspecified ransom demand.

Weiner was told to buy a walkie-talkie, set it at a certain frequency and go to an isolated, wooded area Friday, but the kidnapers then failed to make contact, police said.
