Ousted Haiti Leader Visits Miami
Deposed President Leslie Manigat of Haiti flew here today on his way to Europe to denounce the military government of Lt. Gen. Henri Namphy, who ousted Manigat in a coup earlier this week. Manigat, his wife, Myrlande, and his daughter Beatrice arrived in a private plane and were quickly driven away from the airport.
After stopping over in Miami, Manigat will fly to Rome possibly Sunday to begin a European tour that will take him to West Germany, Belgium, Spain and France, sources close to Manigat said. Manigat also plans to travel to Latin American points after Europe in search of support against Namphy.
