Home Warranty Contract Sales Increase Reported

Sales of home warranty contracts increased 16.5% in 1987 over 1986 to reach an all-time high, according to figures by the Home Warranty Assn. of California. About 190,600 contracts, valued at $56.4 million, were sold in 1987 compared to 163,560, valued at $47.2 million in 1986.
In 1987, nearly 35% of all California home resales had a warranty plan, the association reported.
Current members of the association are: American Home Shield, Buyers Home Warranty Co., Continental Home Services, Electronic Realty Associates, First American Home Buyers Protection and Hisco Home Protection Plan.
