Hammer’s brand of generosity, demanding plenty of obsequious “gratitude,” is an insult to those upon whom he deigns to bestow his largess. It’s a delight to hear the museum stood up to him and recognized just who he truly meant to serve--himself, not the people of Los Angeles. And what a heartwarming scene it was to see Zev (“the Opportunist”) Yaroslavsky stand by his principles by leaping to the defense of Hammer.
