Soviet History

Your June 15 editorial page contained an editorial titled, “Roiling Soviet History.” Such dispassionate reporting would be more appropriately placed in Part 1 of your newspaper and not on the editorial page.

What the Soviets have admitted to doing over the past 70 years deserves to be placed in the running for the “crime of the century perpetrated by a government against its people” award. Let’s at least call a spade a spade. What the Soviets are now doing in an attempt to undo the damage is not “roiling” their history, they are rewriting it! And rewriting it, I might add, to more closely reflect the truth as expressed by the Western World all along.
