Wasting Water

Share

I’ve been working late at Cal State Los Angeles for the past few weeks. Every night as I’m walking across campus to my car, I am deeply saddened to see broken sprinklers pouring thousands of gallons of pure, fresh water onto the streets and walkways.

We are constantly being reminded by the government that we are in the grips of a serious drought, and yet government buildings and agencies (like Caltrans and probably every public school or college) are throwing away millions of gallons because of stupid things like bad washers and broken sprinkler heads.
