Pro-PLO Editor Siniora Goes on Trial in Israel
From Reuters
JERUSALEM —
A Palestinian newspaper editor went on trial Thursday, accused of printing an interview with Palestine Liberation Organization leader Yasser Arafat without submitting the article to Israel’s military censor.
Israeli army regulations say that all material dealing with security issues must be reviewed by the censor.
Hanna Siniora, editor of the pro-PLO East Jerusalem Al Fajr daily, said the December, 1986, article did not touch on security matters.
